A self-directed collection of paintings, illustrations, and surface designs inspired by a joyful trip to Tresco Abbey Garden on the Isles of Scilly. Drawn to Tresco's sub-tropical planting, living walls, and vibrant colour, the project began as a series of original mixed media works exploring the abundance of the garden.
Created using ink, watercolour, acrylic, and collage on handmade paper, the paintings were later developed into a wider collection spanning greeting cards, surface pattern design, and editorial mockups, exploring how the visual language of Tresco could live across print, product, and storytelling.
The collection celebrates the distinct sense of place found both on the island and within the gardens - the movement of agapanthus in the wind, sculptural succulents and aloes bursting from between stones, and the joyful rhythm of island life.
